Christmas this year was so amazing to say the least. This year my parents moved into their new home in Mt Green so we were able to spend Christmas at their home. My mom decorated amazingly as always, she's so dang talented and she made it feel just like the holidays. The week before Christmas we had the 'Speters' side come over to the house and we enjoyed soups and dips, then we played some pictionary and had some fun with photo props posing for pics. That was a blast!!!
On Christmas Eve we were up at my parents. My mom decided to do a fondue party and it was a BLAST!!!! Before it started my dad made me bawl while thanking everyone for being there, and while saying such an amazing prayer of graitude for our Savior and his family. We had chicken to fry, shrimp, and steak.... then on the other side of the counter we had breads to dip in yummy cheese and a whole layout of desserts to dip in chocolate. We all loved it!!!
After being filled up on all of the food we went straight to the couches to watch the nativity scene on You Tube and we also watched the amazing performance by the Piano Guys and other artists of "Mary Did You Know?"... after tears were shed... (i'm a cry baby) we went over to the piano room and sung lots of Christmas songs the fav was "Jing Bells"... My nephews were most excited for that one....
Once we were done with that we went back to the family room and we opened our pj's.... Nate makes fun of me because we still do them being married, but I LOVE IT... and it will be that way for the rest of forever... so get used to it baby!!
That night after getting the Santa Key on the front door and laying out treats for Santa and his reindeer we layed out our Santa gifts for eachother and went to bed... and oh boy I could not sleep hahahaha.... i'm such a little kid... I think I was up every hour freaking out.... I was so excited for the little boys to see what Santa left them.. and me of course. ;)
In the morning once everyone was awake right at 7 am of course, we all ran into the family room it was soooo fun to watch everyone.... here's a video I got :)
Once the Christmas presents were opened... we sat down and had some classic "Papa Cakes" (my dads famous pancakes)... it was delish.. . oh and did I mention we woke up to a snowy Christmas, I swear that hasn't happened in years.... it was beautiful!!! After breakfast Nate and I headed to the apartment to get ready for the day!! :)
It really was such a SPECIAL thing to have all of us there. It was a Christmas that will never be forgotten.
Once all ready in our matching Converse I got us of course hahaha (i'm a cheesy wife) we went to Nates parents and enjoyed opening gifts with them and then we went to his grandma and grandpas next door and opened gifts with them... we then watched Guardians of the Galaxy and I passed out from staying up the whole night before haha...
Then we took a good ol kids pic in front of the Hodells home and then headed up to Bountiful to enjoy a feast of salads and ham the story of the wisemen and good old family talks... Later on his grandpa gave his traditional Christmas nativity that is memorized out of the scriptures, and then we passed out all of our different family gifts.... this year Nate and I did "Seasons Greetings" with a Red Robin seasoning salt for everyone... who knew it would be such a hit??? Then Nate and I went home and passed right out!!!
BECAUSE OF HIM, MY SAVIOR:
I love Christmas time especially because of our Savior that made it all possible. I'm grateful he made being with family for eternity possible and that He loves us SO MUCH!!!!!
Merry Christmas to you all.
